OVERVIEW

This refinery had completed an RBI on this tank which only extended the inspection interval by 2 years. They wanted a more thorough inspection with high density data to understand the true condition of the tank, but also had timeline constraints for the inspection.

SOLUTION

Square Robot side launched the SR-3 for this gasoline inspection, following a successful hot tap by the client to install the manway adapter and gate valve. Discussions with the client led to an agreed-upon distributed coverage plan to address timeline constraints, bolstered with an EVA. Client had tank LOTO during the day and operational at night.

OUTCOME

This inspection was completed in 4 days, with the tank never coming offline from hot tap through inspection. Dense tank bottom data and an EVA proved the tank was in good condition, extending the interval by 20 years.
